On April 23rd 2013, The Civilian received a legal notice from Chapman Tripp on behalf of Conservative Party leader Colin Craig.
Craig charged that The Civilian was engaging in defamation against him, and sought both an apology and a retraction of quotes attributed to him.
This led to a short-lived media stoush between Craig and The Civilian, which ended on April 24th when Craig made the decision not to pursue legal action.
The original legal notice as issued to The Civilian can be found here.
The story that was the subject of the legal notice can be found here.
The Civilian’s formal response to the Chapman Tripp legal notice can be found here.
